Privacy policy
Effective 17 September 2026; updated 22 September 2026. Applies to the Ontario Employer Tools website and to the "Ontario Job Posting Checker & Hiring Log" Google Sheets add-on (the "add-on"), both published by Viana Safa, Toronto, Ontario ([email protected]), the "publisher".
The website
The website's tools run entirely in your browser. The text you paste and the answers you choose are not transmitted to any server, not stored, and not seen by the publisher. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
The Google Sheets add-on: what Google user data it accesses
The add-on runs inside Google Sheets under your Google Account, using Google Apps Script. It requests two OAuth permissions:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.currentonly— "View and manage spreadsheets that this application has been installed in". This gives the add-on access only to the spreadsheet it is open in, not to any other file in your Google Drive.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui— "Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications". This lets the add-on show its menu, sidebar and alert dialogs.
The add-on does not request or access your email address, name, contacts, Gmail, Calendar, other Drive files, or any other Google user data.
How the add-on uses Google user data
The add-on uses the spreadsheet permission for exactly two purposes, both started by you: (1) when you choose "Create hiring log sheets" or click "Save to log", it creates three sheets ("Postings", "Interviews", "Read me — hiring log") in the current spreadsheet if they do not exist; and (2) when you click "Save to log", it writes one row to the "Postings" sheet containing the answers you gave in the sidebar (employee count, kind of posting, the screening-disclosure and vacancy answers, position title) and the results of the posting check. The add-on does not read the contents of your spreadsheet for any other purpose, and it reads nothing at all unless you click one of those commands. The job-posting text you paste into the sidebar is checked inside the sidebar in your browser; the full text is never written to the spreadsheet and never leaves the sidebar.
The add-on uses Google user data only to provide and improve the features you can see in the add-on itself. It does not use Google user data for advertising, for profiling, for market research, for building or training any model, or for any purpose unrelated to the add-on's visible features.
Sharing, transfer and disclosure of Google user data
The add-on does not share, transfer, sell or disclose Google user data to anyone. It has no server of its own and makes no network requests: it never sends spreadsheet contents, the text you paste, or anything else to the publisher, to any third party, to any analytics service, or to any other external service. The only place your data goes is the spreadsheet you are working in, which stays in your own Google Drive under your control and Google's own privacy policy. The publisher cannot see your spreadsheet. The publisher would disclose Google user data to a third party only if required by law, and, having no access to it, does not expect ever to be in that position.
How Google user data is protected
Because the add-on never transmits or stores your data outside your spreadsheet, the data stays inside Google's infrastructure at all times, protected by the encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and security programme that Google applies to Google Sheets and Google Apps Script. The add-on's code runs in Google's sandboxed Apps Script environment under your own account's permissions; it holds no credentials, keys, tokens or copies of your data, and the publisher keeps no database, log file or backup containing Google user data. Only you (and the people you share your spreadsheet with through Google's own sharing controls) can see the hiring log. The information the add-on writes to the log is the compliance information you entered and the check results; it does not write personal information about applicants unless you type it into the log yourself.
Retention and deletion of Google user data
The publisher retains no Google user data, so there is nothing for the publisher to delete. Everything the add-on produces lives only in your spreadsheet and is retained for as long as you keep it there. You can delete it at any time by deleting the rows or the "Postings", "Interviews" and "Read me — hiring log" sheets, or the spreadsheet itself, using Google Sheets' normal controls; Google's own retention and deletion practices then apply. You can withdraw the add-on's permissions at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions (remove "Ontario Job Posting Checker & Hiring Log"), or uninstall the add-on from Google Sheets (Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons). Withdrawing permission or uninstalling takes effect immediately and does not delete your spreadsheet. If you have any question about your data, email [email protected]; the publisher will answer within 30 days.
Limited Use statement
The add-on's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and to the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy. The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Purchases
Paid document kits are sold through Gumroad, which processes payment and delivery under its own privacy policy. The publisher sees the purchaser's email address as provided by Gumroad in order to deliver the files and answer support questions, and uses it for nothing else.
