Ontario Job Posting Checker & Hiring Log

What it does
Ontario's job-posting rules under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (Part III.1) and O. Reg. 476/24 have applied since 1 January 2026 to employers with 25 or more employees on the day a public posting goes up: expected compensation or a range no wider than $50,000, no Canadian-experience requirements, the applicant-screening disclosure statement required by s. 8.4, a statement whether the posting is for an existing vacancy, a 45-day duty to tell interviewed applicants whether a hiring decision has been made, and three-year record retention.
The add-on gives you two things inside Google Sheets. A sidebar where you paste a posting and get a pass / warn / fix list against those rules, citing the section, with ready-to-paste wording for anything missing — the same check as the free web checker. And a one-click hiring-records log: Postings and Interviews sheets whose formulas calculate the range spread, the 45-day inform-by date, overdue status, and both three-year retention dates.
Permissions and privacy
The add-on asks for two permissions: to view and manage the spreadsheet it is opened in (spreadsheets.currentonly), used only to create the log sheets and to add a row when you click "Save to log"; and to show its menu and sidebar (script.container.ui). It does not read other files, makes no network requests, sends nothing to the publisher or to any other service. Full privacy policy (including how Google user data is used, shared, protected and deleted) and terms of use.
Availability
The add-on is being published on the Google Workspace Marketplace. Until it is listed, the same check is available free at the web checker, and the editable Excel version of the log is in the Ontario Hiring & Job Posting Kit 2026.
